Virtus’ stated goal is to “assist the church in being a safe haven for children and a messenger for preventing child sexual abuse within the church and society in general.” The Protecting God’s Children session educates and trains adults about the dangers and warning signs of abuse, how to prevent it, and how to report suspicions of abuse. Even though it is required for all employees of the Diocese and also for any volunteer who comes in contact with the children of our parishes, everyone should attend this training and be among the thousands who are helping to keep our children safe.
