Each second Sunday of the month, from October through March, all are invited for lunch in the Fellowship Hall following the 11:00am Mass. For a free-will donation, you receive your choice of a main dish (Koegel Beef Hot Dogs, Sloppy Joe's, or Macaroni & Cheese), fruit, veggies, chips, dessert, and a beverage. All proceeds benefit the organization served by St. Michael parish through the monthly service project.
Hot Dogs for Hope began in 2015 in response to Bishop Boyea's call to assist the people of Flint. All proceeds for the first three years supported Flint's Center for Hope, a service of Shiawasee/Genesee Catholic Charities and St. Michael's St. Vincent de Paul Society. To date, over $8,000 has been raised to support our local communities!
2024/25 INFORMATION:
Hot Dogs for Hope Truly Helps!
Every day we are bombarded with opportunities to do good for others. At St. Michael’s Parish we are a community of people known for doing very good! In 2016 the Hot Dogs for Hope lunches began with a commitment to help the people of Flint in the midst of a devastating water crisis. For 2018, we transitioned into combining Hot Dogs for Hope with a monthly Service Project to primarily support local organizations in need. In addition to our financial assistance to these worthy organizations, parishioners also contributed time one Saturday during the month to help the organizations. ALL MONIES collected through your donations went directly to the selected organization as all the food products as well as the hands of those who prepared and served the meals were completely donated…100%! So, 100% of your contributions reached each of our selected organizations!
Further, did you know that your support of the monthly luncheons does more than provide financial support? It allows us as a parish to come together in fellowship and enjoy a meal with one another…to continue to build our St. Michael’s community of faith-filled people.
Once again, we invite you to join us on the second Sunday of the month from October through March to enjoy a meal featuring hot dogs, sloppy joes, mac ‘n cheese with fresh fruit, veggies, cookies, chips, and a beverage for a donation of your choice. We also invite you to join us for a meal and/or assist with the service project as we continue to reach out within our communities to our brothers and sisters in need. Besides, Hot Dogs for Hope Sundays are a good way to invite someone to join you for Mass and then come downstairs for a meal!
